The Balerman started building scale model hay balers in the early 1980's. The first was a hand operated baler producing bales in the 1/16th scale and a year later a 1/8 scale was added to the line for toy farmers to build diorama displays and also for the crafters to use in their projects.
  The next endeavor was to produce a 1/3 scale working gear driven model of a 1922 J. I. CASE stationary baler.
  A year later the 1/6 scale version was developed to enable scale model engine
builders an item to demonstrate their building expertise.
  Later, after numerous requess for a larger hand operated baler, the 1/5 scale unit was placed into production.
